Ken began attending Mt. Hope in February of 2014 and was ordained as an elder in April, 2018. Prior to Mt. Hope, he served in a variety of church leadership roles, such as outreach coordinator, young adult leader, children's church leader, and small group leader. Ken grew up in Duluth, Minnesota and central Wisconsin, living with his mother, brother and sister. While on a college cooperative education assignment in Reston, Virginia, in 1989 he believed on Jesus Christ as his Savior. After graduating from Valparaiso University, Indiana, with an electrical engineering degree in 1991, Ken moved to Sterling, Virginia, in response to God's leading. He spent the last 21 years as a systems analyst on Verizon's global networks for business customers. Ken married his beautiful wife, Marian, in July, 1997, and plays an active role in the lives of his three children, Cayla (born 2004), Josiah (2006), and Micah (2009), all of whom have been homeschooled for the entirety of their education. Ken enjoys studying the Bible, reading non-fiction books, writing, running, bicycling. and desserts (under the watchful eye of Marian!).
