Live Lives of Service.

In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.  Matthew 5:16 (NLT)

Service Opportunity!

Mt Hope is partnering with Tree of Life to provide To-Go Meals on the last Tuesday of every month.  Below is the Sign-up Genius link for those interested in volunteering.  The free meals serve those in our community who are in need of assistance.

Mt Hope / Tree of Life To-Go Meals

Tree of Life also operates a food pantry in Leesburg and Purcellville.  It serves the needs of Western Loudoun County residents who are having trouble providing food for themselves and their families.  Volunteers are assigned a family for whom they thoughtfully shop the pantry and then deliver the food directly to the home.   For those in need, this is a vital service.  For those interested in providing groceries to replenish the pantry, please click the link below for more information.  You may also drop the groceries at the church; and we will deliver them to the pantry.

Tree of life Food Pantry

Tree of Life

Tree of Life Ministries  has been designated an emergency food pantry during our national COVID-19 crisis. This means they continue working to help our community as folks lose their jobs or are unable to work because of closures.

The most urgent volunteer needs right now are grocery deliveries to homes in Leesburg, donating to go dinners for distribution at Crossroads Baptist Church in Leesburg, and volunteering at our Purcellville Food Pantry sorting and packing food.

TOL provides all volunteers with masks and gloves and adheres to gatherings of 10 or less. Here are the sign-up links for those opportunities:
  1. Grocery deliveries in Leesburg (background check required)
  2. Leesburg To Go Meals  (no background check needed)
  3. Leesburg Food Pantry and Purcellville Food Panty.  (no background check needed)

Mt Hope Mission Trip 2020
Missions trip to Parkersburg, WVa

The youth of Mt Hope Church went on a missions trip to Appalachia from July 11 thru July 17, 2020.  The mission trip was arranged through Praying Pelican Missions.  We partnered with two local churches, Downtown Bethel House of God and Liberty Street Church of God.  We served one of the poorest neighborhoods in Parkersburg, West Virginia where poverty and addiction are a major social problem.  The ministry involved helping with the needs of the community, and providing encouragement and support by showing what it means to love God and love others. The team canvassed the neighborhood, and passed literature on the love of Jesus Christ and information on social resources available from surrounding churches.  We collected food from a local grocery store to replenish a local food pantry.  The group helped repair some of the dilapidated homes such as fixing a front porch and doing yard work for the elderly and disabled.

The ministry continues by developing genuine partnership with the local churches. We will continue to pray for these churches and the community.  We aim to develop life-long friends and establish long term relationships.

Mt Hope Youth is very blessed and thankful for everyone's prayers and support.  To continue the ministry,  please consider donating to Mt Hope Missions and designate "Youth Missions Trip".  The tax deductible donation may be placed in the offering plate or mail to:

Medical Mission Trip to Guatemala, 2019

In the summer of 2019, we were humbled by the extent of assistance needed as communities in Guatemala continue to struggle in the aftermath of the devastating volcanic eruption of Volcan de Fuego in 2018.  The medical mission trip was arranged through Leadership Excursion and sponsored by several local Guatemala ministries.   Our motivation is the desire to show the love of God through our actions, and to remind the people that God is always faithful.

Matthew 25:40 says "I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters; you were doing it to me.”  By following God's command to care for the needy, we experience the blessings that come from helping others.
Please join us in honoring God and showing the love of God by serving others.  For more information on ministry projects, click on the I'd Like to Serve link or reach out to us at the contact information below.
